Help me pick

I edited the link to the Foxy Brown pic, it was a repeat of the first one. Sorry.

I posted this earlier in my blog and then later it hit me: I should have submitted this to the group:

I'm still working on my sweater and I'm about to start on the front but I want to put an intasia motif but I can't pick one:

The Original Star Trek's Lt Uhura

70's icon Pam Grier as Foxy Brown

Activist Angela Davis (or maybe this one)

And finally Jimi Hendrix.

Which do you prefer?

Fanknitic...

Megan, the owner of Faknitic, is having a baby in January.

She is liquidating her online store on EBay...yes, her ENTIRE inventory must go.

Really, it must. The baby needs its space.

Mmmm....I'd buy some, but I am swimming (drowning, really) in fibrous goodness.

New Notions

For those of you who knit/crochet and like a good deal, Knit Picks has some nifty new accessories for yarn artists. They can be used whether you knit or crochet. I bought a couple of the Critters and the Sticki Clips and they are perfect. They also have some new yarns that are beautiful. I bought the Felici colorways and the colors on my monitor were pretty accurate. They have new needles and fall colored heather yarns available too. Their needle sizer/gauger has been remade to include the new needle sizes they are offering. There are many new patterns on the site and the books and reference materials are up to 40% off.

Lots of Knit Alongs are starting in August - you can see the list of the ones I have jumped into on my blog. Let me know if you are knitting along with me on any of those. As you may be able to tell from my finished objects, the initial thrill of Ravelry has finally worn off. I have posted most of my finished projects, joined and dropped out of many groups, posted my sock stash (yes Adrienne that's just the sock stash), and put about 40 free patterns in my queue. I created two groups: CGOA and TKGA, if you are a member of Ravelry and belong to either Association, please join the group. The Ravelry hosts have discovered that more than a few invitations got spam blocked, so if you joined the waiting list in or before May you may want to check with them to make sure yours is not one of the 900+ unclaimed invitations. Let me know your usernames when you get in so I can add you to my friends. I love looking at other folks projects and stash!!

Sock Knit-Along = Completed Socks!

Hey y'all,

I can't post these on my personal blog yet since I haven't mailed them off to my sock swap pal, but here go my completed socks for the Ebony Elite knit-along!
Completed!
I knit these on size 1 Addi needles, magic looped, 2 socks at once. I used the Scrolls pattern from the More Sensational Knitted Socks book and I used Vesper Sock Yarn. Additional info will be posted on my blog during the forthcoming week.

Nice to meet up with my fellow sistahs online! If you don't know me already, my name's Anna, I'm in my 20s and I work as an adjunct librarian. No kids, no husband, just me, my yarn, and my roving! :-) See y'all again soon!

Recycling, It's a Good Thing

I often take great risks for reasons that can't be expressed clearly right now. I'm glad this last risk is having a favorable outcome. This is the front of my Coachella. I unraveled a well worn Banana Republic vest to start this project. See the beginning and the end at my place.

Sale for a Cause

I don't know if you guys have already heard this story, but the woman who owns this site has a child who has been diagnosed with a very rare disease. You can read her story on this Blog:
evan.

and evan

I became aware of their story because she is a friend of a few members of my knitting guild. She has an ebay store called Supercrafty. She is raising money for her son's surgery. I believe that the procedure is not covered by insurance and they have to travel to have it done. She has tons of great yarns and other craft items and lots of it is on sale. So, why not buy for a cause. Help this little boy and get some great yarns at the same time!

Just thought I would share.

anybody notice how i figured out the link thing!!!!!!

Just a Tip - Yarn Braids

OK, this has nothing to do with knitting but it has everything to do with stash busting if you have the appropriate yarn in your stash. I just put in a new set of yarn braids using Lions Brand Homespun yarn from my stash.

If you are like me and haven't used that acrylic since you started knitting (before you learned about wool and silk) this is a great way to get rid of it. Or you can just try something new. If you know how to braid then this will be a cinch for you.

Pics are in my blog and your comments are always appreciated.

love this yarn storage...

hi ladies,

i found this photo on flickr. i loved the way it looked. such a cool way to organize. i think the knitter got this at target for $30.00. there is a section for each yarn project she wants to tackle.

a yarn store i go to stores yarn this way. the store i all white so the colors of the yarn just *pop* i love that. it makes the yarn look even more yummy.

btw, has anyone seen the new bamboo yarns? i say some today by sirdar, called baby bamboo. it is a bamboo and wool mix. its so soft and the colors are pastels, but more jeweled than a traditional pastel. just beautiful. here is a link
happy knitting!

FO Alert!

See the whole Summertime Tunic at Yarn Fettish.

Something Tunic

I started the Summertime Tunic over 3 times... now I got somewhat of an idea of how knitting a garment goes... (at least for this easy project...hehe). I restarted this project on June 24th and nearing the finishing line... Here is a peeksy of what I've done so far. I've decided to name it Something Tunic... b/c of my flubs & flobs....lol. Hopefully I'll finish it today.

Hand Bags

I finished this clutch bag tonight... It was my 1st time doing buttonholes!!! I was intimidated by them, the whole yarnover thing had me just a tad bit confused! lol

And can someone please explain what (*Kk1) means?! I just did a regular knit1 and kept it moving, and since it LOOKED good when I finished I assumed I did the right thing, but who knows! LOL
