Thank you so much for welcoming me to the group! I am brand new to the worlds of crocheting and knitting. I'm actually still trying to decide whether I want to attempt crocheting or knitting first. My blog, Napptural Knits is still under construction. I plan on tackling my first project this weekend so I have to get it up and running so that I can tell you all how it goes.
I'm hoping that through hard work and practice I can make clothing and accessories that are a reflection of me. If my creative juices really get to flowing I may dust off the sewing machine that I bought three or four years ago that still hasn't been used (horrible I know). I'm looking forward to ogling all of your creations and sharing information and new finds.

Welcome to the group!
For your first project, I would suggest crocheting. It is super easy to learn and you can have a finished object fairly quickly. Once you get used to a hook and yarn, it will be a lot easier to pick up a pair of knitting needles. Also, crocheted clothes can be cooler and worn during the summer months (I can't even think of wearing knit clothes here in North Carolina this summer).

Renee, I know what you mean about wearing anything heavy during the summer...I'm in Florida. I think I'm going to crochet a headband for my first project, then do something larger.
